Dolphwin Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) forms part of the Dolphwin Terms of Service. It applies to every user of the Service and to every software agent acting for one. We may suspend access for any breach.
1. What Dolphwin is for
Dolphwin answers questions about companies and other legal entities: who they are, who owns or controls them according to public filings, and what public footprint they have. You may use it for legitimate business research about entities. Examples include vendor onboarding, KYB and counterparty due diligence, procurement, compliance research, M&A and investment research, and journalism.
2. Prohibited uses
You must not use the Service, any Receipt, or any information derived from them to do any of the following.
2.1 Decisions about individuals (FCRA and similar laws)
- Decide or help decide any individual’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment (including hiring, promotion, retention or contractor engagement), housing or tenancy, a government license or benefit, or any other purpose listed in 15 U.S.C. § 1681b.
- Screen, score or rank individuals.
2.2 Targeting people
- Locate, track, monitor or surveil any individual.
- Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate or dox anyone.
- Find a person’s home address, contact details or whereabouts.
- Compile a profile, dossier or list of individuals, including by pulling the names of directors, officers or other people mentioned in filings.
- Target any person protected by address-confidentiality laws. This includes judges, law-enforcement officers, prosecutors and their families (for example under New Jersey’s Daniel’s Law or the federal Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act), and participants in state address-confidentiality programs.
2.3 Discrimination and unlawful purposes
- Discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic.
- Any use that violates law, including privacy, consumer-protection, anti-discrimination, sanctions and export-control law.
- Facilitating fraud, market manipulation, or evading sanctions or AML controls.
2.4 Misrepresentation
- Present an
unconfirmed_leadas a confirmed fact. - Present any Receipt as a beneficial-ownership determination, a certification, or a government record.
- Remove or alter citations, status labels or disclaimers in a Receipt you give to someone else.
- Give Feedback (confirmations or rejections) that you know to be false.
2.5 Abuse of the Service
- Bulk-extract the Service, or resell or redistribute its output as a data product.
- Use it to build a competing database or train a model to replicate it.
- Get around rate limits, authentication or usage controls.
- Share API keys.
- Probe, scan or attack the Service, or run load tests without written permission.
- Use the Service to scrape or overload any public source that Dolphwin queries, or use Dolphwin to get around a source’s own terms.
3. Agents and automation
If you connect an AI agent or other automation:
- You must configure it to follow this AUP.
- It must pass through status labels unchanged.
- It must not act on an
unconfirmed_leadwithout human review, where the action materially affects anyone.
You are responsible for everything an agent does with your credentials.
4. Reporting misuse
Report suspected misuse to abuse@dolphwin.com. Report inaccurate information or request takedowns through the Corrections, Disputes & Takedown Policy.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, and cooperate with law enforcement where required. We will not tell anyone what an individual customer researched unless the law requires it or it is needed to address misuse. We decide at our discretion how to enforce this AUP.
